ABOUT THE CLIENT
CITY65 Music organises ticketed and free music events that showcase the talent and diversity of Singaporean and Singapore-based music acts.
Its inaugural CITY65 Music Festival in 2017 featured 13 local bands alternating between an intimate living-room session-style setting and a rockier, louder stage area. Hosted within the fluorescent urban jungle of a spacious, off-the-beaten-track eatery, this first endeavour was a success by all accounts and inspired the team behind it to roll out a series of concerts - small- to medium-sized living-room sessions and pop-up gigs - throughout the year, wrapping things up with the all-out music festival.
ABOUT THE WORK
Leitmotif developed a main logo that highlights "65" – both the year Singapore obtained its independence and the island's country code – with the deep red of the country flag while the rest of the name sits against a vibrant orange; these colours reflect the energy of the bands showcased through the gigs, many of them young and up-and-coming. This logo – as well as the complementary logos of each of concert series – clearly sets CITY65 apart from other local music festivals, most of which opt for simple black-and-white typefaces. The mark is distinct enough to be identified at a very small scale or from far.
We also created business cards, an ink stamp design, different merch items, visuals for online and in-theatre promotion, and D-day event visuals.
